What we are working on in class this week:

Fourth Grade

Saludos

  • Students will learn and practice different forms of greetings and introductions in Spanish.

  • Students will identify themselves and others in Spanish

  • Students will identify and use sequence of events.

  • Students will use illustrations and context clues to make inferences.

Culture Objective

  • Throughout this unit, the students will learn about Nicaragua.

Fifth Grade

¿Cómo somos?

  • Students will identify different forms of media by reading an email reply.

  • Students will describe people and places in Spanish.

  • Students will use and apply present-tense forms of the verb ser (to be).

Culture Objective

  • Throughout this unit, the students will learn about Bolivia.

Sixth Grade

¿Cómo aprendemos?

  • Students will learn greetings.

  • Students will ask and respond about about basic personal information.

  • Students will learn to introduce someone.

  • Students will indicate different school supplies required for learning.

  • Students will identify the different Spanish-speaking countries.

  • Hispanic Heritage Month

Seventh & Eighth Grade

¿Quién eres?

  • Students will describe character traits and personalities.

  • Students will describe physical attributes.

  • Students will learn to use online Spanish dictionaries and resources.

  • Students will learn about personal pronouns in Spanish.

  • Students will learn about the verbs "ser" and "tener"

  • During the regular classroom hours, it is important to be on time.  Direct instruction and students interactions will be done at the beginning of the class, for around 25 minutes. The rest of the class time will be used by students to work independently. 

  • Office hours by appointment

  • We will be using Google Meets in the event we were to move to remote instruction. (Link can be found on Google Classroom)

CLASS SCHEDULE (MIDDLE SCHOOL)

Schedule for Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth Grade

Class will be held every other day 11:09am-12:09pm

  • Your main platform to work for Spanish class will be Google Classroom. In here you will find resources, websites, videos and assignments to be completed. Don’t forget that each assignment is going to have a due date!

  • Please, join your corresponding Google Classroom, using the following codes:

6th grade: fmrduaz

7th and 8th grade: qpoi6ge

  • In your Google Classroom you will also find the link that you need to follow to connect to our Google Meet if class were to move to remote instruction. We will have Spanish class during Fourth Period, every other day, at 11:09 am.​

  • Additionally, you will need to practice at least 10 minutes, daily, on Duolingo. Join your class using your Google School account.
