Mrs. Kilmer and I worked on a collaborative project together that involved corn tortillas. Corn tortillas are a staple in many traditional dishes found throughout Latin America. Mexican artist Joe Bravo uses tortillas to make beautiful works of art. During Spanish class we made tortillas from scratch. First, the students helped make the dough by putting the ingredients together. Then, each student got a piece of dough and patted the dough to make a small round tortilla. After the tortillas were cooked, the students used the tortillas in art class to paint on them. The student's really enjoyed this activity!
